Trumpets!

A lunchtime brass spectacular at the Castle! Following on from 2022’s massed brass project, the trumpeters of the Monochrome Project led by Marco Blaauw, Royal Irish Academy, Paris Conservatoire, Royal Academy of Music, and brass players from across Dublin will join together outdoors in a world premiere of a new work by German composer Peter Jakober (a co-commission with WDR, Germany), alongside music by Alvin Curran, Harrison Birtwistle, and others.

Performed by trumpeters from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, Royal Academy of Music London, the Monochrome Project, and brass players from across the island of Ireland.

Leaders: Marco Blaauw (Germany), David Collins (Ireland), Marc Geujon (France) and Mark David (U.K).
