Diamanda La Berge Dramm Thanks (2024) [world premiere]

Visit Room 104 through NMD 2024 to experience Diamanda La Berge Dramm’s immersive Thanks. Commissioned by Crash Ensemble, and with visuals and text also contributed by SJ Fowler, this installation was created to mark the culmination of La Berge Dramm’s time as Artist in Residence with the ensemble.
Recalling NMD 2022, Diamanda wonders if ‘a few people might remember a thank you speech, and a few people might, after a beer, remember an improvised performance a few hours later.’ ‘It became a poem,’ she explains, ‘which inspired this installation, which, in turn, is a thanks from me to my close collaborators of the past years. To SJ, and to Crash.’

Invisible Threads
Venue: Room 104

Invisible Threads is a slow walk through delicate threads of feedback that dance and skein around you as they try to maintain the connection that gives them life. A single loudspeaker reaches out to three microphones across the vibrating air, seeking connection but thwarted by bodies in its path. The space is a playground for you to find hidden harmonies that emerge as the feedback twists around you.
