Anthony Braxton Ghost Trance Music (1995–2006)

This multimedia tribute to Anthony Braxton’s Ghost Trance Music draws on material from approximately 150 individual works, which function as pathways between Braxton’s musical systems and place performers at the centre of decision-making in real time. The programme explores improvisatory practice and the relationship between visual and sonic worlds, incorporating graphic scores by Sarah Watts and Ioana Petcu-Colan, based on Petcu-Colan’s original artwork displayed during the performance. Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble is joined by special guests Brian Irvine, Matt Wright and Stephen Davis, the latter a long-time collaborator of Braxton and drummer with his ensemble The New Standard.
