A late-night unleashing of new cutting-edge improvised music with a triple-bill of artists from Ireland, France and the UK featuring BABs, ReDiviDeR and the Guillaume Orti / Stéphane Payen Duo.

ReDiviDeR is a two-horns-no-chords quartet established by drummer Matthew Jacobson in 2007 as a creative outlet for his compositions as well as his somewhat perverse fascination with anagrams.

Their third album release follows previous work that has been described as “an inspired endeavour” by No More Workhorse, “a big leap forward” by Marlbank and “a striking musical collage…recommended for those generally disposed to imaginative, genre-bending music” in All About Jazz.

-

The fruit of twenty-five years of collaboration in ground-breaking ensembles including Thôt, Kartet, Hasse Poulsen's Progressive Patriots and the European Saxophone Ensemble, the Orti-Payen Duo was formed in 2004 for the premiere of Middle Range Enharmony, commissioned by French composer David Lacroix. Since then, the two saxophonists have developed their own repertoire and continue to interpret music that feeds their passion for all vibratory phenomena, from Fabrizio Cassol to the Baldwine Manuscript.

-

BABs are an improvising trio who explore strange spaces ranging from rich, evolving ambient textures to energetic electronica-influenced noise, with their real-time acoustic manipulation creating hypnotic, haunting soundworlds.

Microbes (2019, Diatribe) is their third album release, following The Vulture Watches (2015, Loop) and their début Diving Bells (2012, Loop)

“Diving Bells is a transportive and strangely beautiful record. You can imagine a vessel creaking and groaning as it descends, finding strange lifeforms amongst the icy blackness on the sea bed, before ascending back to a calm, rippling surface. Diving Bells is a (sunken) treasure'' , The Limina
